Program Overview

The IoEBH Internship Placement Program (IPP) is designed for psychology trainees, interns, and emerging professionals seeking structured exposure in mental health services. The program matches interns with suitable clinical or non-clinical roles at IoEBH and fosters skill development through supervision and reflective learning.

Program Objectives

Match interns with suitable roles at IoEBH
Provide structured exposure to real-time clinical and community-based mental health work
Develop assessment, observation, and basic intervention skills
Promote ethical awareness and reflective practice
Enhance supervision-based learning and professional confidence

Program Phases

Week 0

Phase 1: Pre-Placement Screening

  • Application form review (CV + intent statement)
  • 20-minute screening interview
  • Intern readiness checklist (if applicable)
  • Orientation session confirmation

Week 1

Phase 2: Orientation & Placement Session

  • Introduction to IoEBH values and ethics
  • Clear roles & responsibilities overview
  • Departmental overview
  • Self-assessment & placement matching
  • Supervisor assignment
Week 1

Week 2–4

Phase 3: Structured Rotations & Observations

  • Clinical observations (2–3 per week, with consent)
  • Weekly case reflections
  • Shadowing healing or intake sessions
  • Community psychoeducation exposure
Week 2–4

Week 5–6

Phase 4: Active Participation

  • Co-conduct basic psychological assessments
  • Assist in group/community therapy sessions
  • Deliver one mental health presentation
  • Submit reflective report
Week 5–6

Supervision & Feedback

  • Weekly individual supervision sessions
  • Ethical dilemma discussions
  • Final evaluation and feedback session
  • Certificate of Completion and recommendation letter
